"DARE TO BE DIFFERENT"
by Larry Pilarski
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

While managing several restaurants I was invited to
attend a six week advanced traing program at McDonald's
Hamburger University.

Yes, as strange as it may sound there really is a Hamburger
University. Located in Oakbrook, IL it's designed to take
general store managers, ones who have been around for
several years, and instruct them in advanced forms of
advertising, people handling and unconventional
management applications. The title of the seminar was
"Dare To Be Different."

How many of you "Dare to be Different?"

Rather than plug away at the same old game of placing your
advertising where everybody else is placing theirs why not
try something unusual? Something daring?

So, what's different? What's unusual? What's "Daring?"

Picture this. You're in a place of business and have to
use their restroom. Your eyes slowly raise up to see a
a brightly colored piece of paper attached to the bath-
room door, printed on it is this:

EARN $500-$1,000+ EVERY MONTH
By givng away a chance to
WIN $100 CASH EVERY WEEK!
Phone (111) 333-1234 or
E-ZMONEY@sendfree.com

You have just witnessed someone "Daring To Be Different!"

A friend of mine did the following and wound up one week
with a $300 commission check. But, you have to be bold!

Print out several 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 sheets of *bright colored*
paper (that's a standard 8 1/2 by 11" piece of paper cut in
half) advertising your offer, it's best to use a telephone
number or an autoresponder.

When your out at different restaurants use the restroom
and (while in the stall) tape your ad on the stall door.
Now you've got a captive audience! (what else is there
to do but stare at that door!) This works great along
thru-ways, rest stops and highways. Gets your ad out
of your immediate area.

Then there's what I call "The Ad For Ad." Every month
when you get your bills, I'm sure you find several ad
inserts along with your statements. Why not return the
favor? When you mail your payment simply enclose your
ad. You're paying the postage anyway might just as well
take advantage of it.

There's also the full page flyer with tear away tabs.
These you will usually post on bulletin boards. Use
the top portion to type up a "Screeching Headline",
(IMPORTANT NOTICE!, WARNING!!, HEY LQQK are a few
headlines - just make them Big and Bold) after the
headline enter your ad info followed by the tear away
tabs with your phone, autoresponder or fax. You can get
about 12 tabs on each sheet. Just tear off one tab,
no one likes to be first to tear away the first tab.

I'll have a several more for you next time . . .

wishing you success,

Larry
