Publisher Q&A
How long have you published ?Publisher: It seems like forever, but it's really been only six years or so. |
How did you get started publishing ?Publisher: I used to send jokes and funny stuff that I found to a bunch of friends and family. One night I realized that most of the jokes in most ezines were recycled from other ezines. I thought someone could do better than that, and then I realized *I* could do better than that. |
What can a reader expect from an issue of ?Publisher: Laughs, of course, and a little bit of trivia, a few quotes and a peek into my world. You won't see recycled internet jokes. I have hundreds of joke books and magazines from which I pick only the best material. I must be doing something right since so many of the other editors take their jokes directly from me. |
What is the most rewarding aspect of publishing ?Publisher: The readers! Because the Giggles are very personal and I talk a lot about my life, many of my readers have come to know all about me, my family, my pets, etc. I correspond with lots of them and I am always touched by their concern and interest, not just in the humor I work so hard to share, but my life. |
Is there anything else that you like to mention about ?Publisher: The Giggles are a labor of love. I do them because they are fun to do. Sometimes it's challenging to find enough good material for 5 jokes a day, 300+ days out of the year, but it has been worth it. I don't get paid to do this, but it's the best job I've never had. |
