Food for Thought
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.
One cannot help but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.
It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery everyday."
Albert Einstein

Listening (And Acting) For Money by Carol McCall
One of the things that stops people from having money is how they listen to themselves about whether or not they deserve to have money.
People have thoughts that they do or do not deserve money, and even those who deserve it tend to have a limit on how much they really deserve. People listen, not from abundance, but from scarcity. And they don't even know they're doing that.
Some of the conversations, both with themselves and with others that people listen to are:
Well, if I had all that money, I'd probably be evil...I'd become a tightwad...I'd harm people...I wouldn't be generous...I don't want to pay all those taxes...People will come after me and try to beg and borrow money...I'll lose my friends...My family will resent me... Those are some of the hidden reasons people have about not attracting money.
To find out how you are listening for money, simply look at those people in your life who have a lot of money, and notice the misgivings you have about them. Look at the anxieties, qualms and complaints you have about these people, who they are, and how badly they behave.
To learn what stops you from having money, look at what you wouldn't do if you had it, and notice where you got that from. Begin to look at why you don't attract money by being aware of the thoughts you have about it. Are you afraid money will corrupt you?
Therein lies the key to how you hold yourself with scarcity.
By focusing on these things you wouldn't do, you block out the possibilities for having money.
When you get entangled and bogged down in this type of listening about money, there isn't any opportunity for you to really attract money into your life and work. And you can bet that people listening for what they won't do is far more powerful than their listening for what they will do. The negative thoughts arei more intense.
You've probably read the research. Each day, preschoolers hear the word "No" 17 times more than they hear "Yes." And sales people expect to get at least five "Nos" before they get a "Yes."
Even if you don't have a long list of the things you wouldn't do if you had money, you're pretty intense and passionate about the ones you do have. We are very strong in our convictions about what we wouldn't do. And this strength of your convictions obliterates any possibility of your having money!
When people have money, they also have all the responsibility that comes with it. Some eople do not want to be responsible and worry "If I had money and I squeezed somebody out, or I acted selfishly, or if I squandered it, then I would have to deal with my integrity."
Often, the problem is not that having money forces people out of their comfort zones. If they have money and they don't do something about their chief complaint in life, such as homelessness, they won't have integrity. They are out of their Integrity Zone. And that's far, far more stressful and disempowering than being out of your Comfort Zone.
When you have money, there is no excuse for not living your visions and contributing to the world. That's your responsibility. And people are afraid they won't do it right. They're scared of that responsibility, scared to be confronted with having money, and behaving outside their Integrity Zone.
(Note: T Level II of he Mind Power Journal Website provides the tools to eradicate the monster of fear, once and for all!)
Second Feature Article
Are You a Sparkler?
by Marilynn Sheehan
There are people who have a certain Sparkle ... a certain charm.
They are the ones who see you when you make mistakes and either pretend not to notice, or they find a way to make you laugh at yourself.
They somehow know that the meter of life is always dealing out an adequate measure of pain, so they never tip the scales in that direction.
They have a way of lifting your Spirit that seems to stem from an inner knowledge that, indeed, all truly is well with the world.
The room they are in seems brighter the minute they walk in.
People seem to always notice them because of the energy they bring to the moment. And this far transcends their physical presence.
My Dad was, and is, a Sparkler. He had a way of always finding something worth celebrating.
Just today, my mother mentioned that, although he left the planet just five years ago, it seems like he has been gone for years.
He'd touched so many hearts, that at his passing, the police had their hands full directing the traffic of those who had to say goodbye one more time.
A successful business owner told me of the time he'd met my father. He was doing time for robbery in a prison in Somers, Connecticut. My father loved teaching the prisioners, and they knew he was genuine in his concern for them.
Dad firmly made it clear to this man that he had something inside him that was special and that he had to make a hard choice about starting a new life or letting his life go down the tubes. The man had apparently made the choice my Dad had hoped for.
We never get over losing the Sparklers, but we do manage to get used to being without them. One way to remember them is to think deeply about what makes them special people.
We must always learn from the Sparklers of the world. Our spiritual evolution depends on that.
We must learn to emulate what Sparkle Qualities they have.
Invariably, these Sparkle Qualities make us feel good about ourselves. They lift us, console us, and warm our hearts.
And if we choose to, we can take some of their Sparkle into our lives by reflecting their special magic.
We can think about how we can tailor those Sparkle Qualities of theirs and knit them into our way of dealing with others. We can think of how they would handle the situations that vex us... the situations that they would handle withoutgetting ruffled.
My Auntie Alice was another wonderful Sparkler. No matter who called her, and no matter what she was doing at the time, her standard response was "Hi, Darlin...how are you?" Her warmth was always apparent.
It didn't matter if she'd been up all night caring for her sick husband. It didn't matter that the pain from her surgery was wracking her frail her old body.
Her smile could be felt through the phone and her Sparkle put a bit of joy into your day.
You couldn't ever convince her that you'd failed at something... she would find a way to show you that you'd simply had a learning experience.
I believe that the spiritual and emotional evolution of the human species is dependent on our preserving the best of what we see in the best of those we meet.
By integrating a Sparkler's best qualities into our own life interactions, we honor those who have passed, and pass the BEST of Humanity onto those who follow in our footsteps.
We can keep the gift of a Sparkler's presence in our daily lives. And I know that they are smiling, somewhere, if we do this.
Think about someone who put some Sparkle in your life... someone who has left the earth to continue their work on a higher level.
Find a way to share their Sparkle with others, they way that they gave that gift to you.
If you have activated your Membership in the Mind Power Journal, you know that there is a commitment to a Journal that coordinates with concepts studied in each Level of the Seminar.
In your Journal, take a moment to remember what special gifts a special Sparkler gave to you. What can you do to carry on the gradition?
Maybe your Sparkler showed you a way out of a dark tunnel of despair. Or maybe they provided a release through uncensored truth. Or a belly laugh that made you think of yourself a bit less seriously. Or they simply held you when you needed to be held.
Only you know what those certain moments were. But everyone has a Special Sparkler that has left the earth plane, and it is always a joy to remember what gifts they left behind.
When you get past the tears, think of your Sparkler, celebrate the memories... and anticipate the reunion once your job on earth has been completed.
While you are sharing the lessons they taught you, you are, yourself becoming more of a Sparkler.
For the Circle of Life goes far beyond the mere appearance of death.
And maybe the next time someone needs a hug, you'll do it, because your Sparkler would have.
You are carrying on the tradition of the Sparkler... a tradition your Sparkler learned from another Sparkler.
Perhaps someday, when you are floating through a Higher Horizon, someone will remember you as the one who put some Sparkle into an otherwise dismal day. And thus, the Circle will go on...
